Objective
The dP Forests & Biodiversity (dP F&B) is a research platform formed by partnership between FOFIFA, the University of Antananarivo, and CIRAD
It conducts research on forest ecosystems and inparticular Madagascar’s natural forest, a global treasure, which is negatively impacted by anthropogenic pressures and climate change. Its preservation is apriority and should not be to the detriment of populations that live from its many resources.
dP F&B's research combines conservation and development of forest biodiversity so that people living in and around forest areas can benefit from them. The research is also aimed at the development and sustainable management of forest plantations and agroforests that meet people's needs, such as wood and the growth of product sectors (eg, cloves, lychees).
The question that the dP F&B addresses therefore is:
- How can biodiversity conservation and development of natural resources be combined to help sustain forest and socio-ecological systems in Madagascar?
As a corollary, the dPF&B’s general aim :
- To reduce vulnerability and improve the sustainability of Madagascar's socio-ecological forest systems through generation of knowledge and know-how.
Here are the leaflet and flyer to illustrate the dPF&B and its work in Madagascar
